UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Only the most valuable structures from the past are designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In Baden-Württemberg there are six cultural sites which bear this title: the monastery in Maulbronn, the monastery island of Reichenau, Upper Germanic-Rhaetian Limes, two buildings of Le Corbusier in Stuttgart, six caves in the Swabian Mountains, as well as the lake dwellings by Lake Constance and Upper Swabia. The historical cultural wealth of the south west can be felt particularly well in these sites.
